Koolgarra Mining Pty Ltd (“Koolgarra”) is a Mineral Exploration and Mining Development company with exclusive rights to explore and develop a 4,000 square kilometre site located in a mineral rich area of Central North Queensland, Australia.
The Koolgarra tenements are situated 250 kilometres inland from the tropical north coast of Queensland midway in-between Townsville and Cairns. Mineralization and geological structure of the Koolgarra site similar to that of Mount Isa and Broken Hill that lie Southwest.
Koolgarra Mining has a number of mining lease applications applications in process which will lead to commencement of mining operations in 2009. Koolgarras initial high grade silica quartz deposit is scheduled to commence mining in the second quarter of 2009. There is significant market for the high purity quartz which is primarily used in high tech industries, specifically for the manufacture of solar photovoltaic cells (Solar Panels) and silicon wafers.
The Koolgarra tenements in the Gulf Region of Far North Queensland host significant deposits of high purity silica as well as hundreds of historic mines that extracted gold, tin, copper, silver, lead, zinc, tungsten, molybdenum, uranium, indium and other rare earth minerals.
